It’s Our Birthday!

On Sunday May 6th Oasis Church will celebrate its 2-year anniversary. We give God praise for all that He has done. It has been amazing to see how God provides everything necessary to do what He calls us to do. As we work to share the truth of salvation in Christ and to teach the Word of God we are seeing fruit produced every week. This Sunday after our worship service at Oasis, we will be having our first baptism service at the Orange Beach Waterfront Park. When you don’t have a church baptistry you have to get creative but thank the Lord there is no shortage of water down here at the Gulf of Mexico!

God is also blessing our youth and young adult discipleship ministry, ABIDE. Hunter Britt leads ABIDE Bible study every Tuesday at Oasis, and we are seeing new young people coming, bringing friends and family with them. It is amazing how close they have become so quickly and how welcoming and receptive they are to everyone who attends. Their fellowship extends beyond the walls of the church and they have something going on all the time.

Our current need is space for children’s ministry and people with a passion and desire to disciple the kids. God has burdened our hearts for the next generation and when we are able to minister to them we want to be ready and equipped. Right now, our worship area is very limited for children’s activities and discipleship but we know that God will provide. Please pray for us as we seek His direction and provision.

Right now at Oasis we have a busy month of worship, fellowship, ministry, discipleship and outreach. Our ladies have begun a new women’s study and are growing together while our young adults and men are studying the Book of Genesis with deeper questions that correlate with the Sunday messages. We have a cookout planned for May 19th 5:00 pm at our house for the church family and guests, and our next big outreach will be May 25th from 4:00-9:00 pm at the annual Pepsi Beach Ball Drop at The Wharf!

Finally, one of my favorite things to do every morning is to read God’s Word using the Bible Apps 2-year plan. We began this January 1st and we are able to read together as a church family and even make comments about what God has shown us for each day. This has been so needed and encouraging for me and I know for others. If you would like to join in the reading and even the discussion we would love to have you. Just follow the instructions for the Bible App on our website, or click HERE. This new method has helped me stay accountable and faithful in the Word and what a blessing that has been. You don’t have to start at the beginning but just start on today. It’s not too late!

God bless you and keep seeking Jesus first!
