When the Going Gets Tough

James 1:1-4 NKJV

1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad:Greetings. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

It’s no mystery that the whole world has been facing hardships over the past few months. More than 26 million people have lost their jobs, thousands of people have died and lost loved ones, and almost everyone has been inconvenienced in some way during the hard times we’re facing right now. When I started studying for this message it was because I really love the book of James and I think it’s very practical. Now I see how awesome God’s timing is because the scripture we are going to look at applies perfectly to the tough times we’re in today. Today we are going to learn how Christians can Have Joy in Trials. When hardships come our way, the natural response is to fall victim to despair. In James chapter 1 God teaches us how we should respond to the difficult things in our lives.
