Ephesians – Part II

Join us as we continue our study of the Book of Ephesians. We are walking verse by verse through this letter learning about the incredible and immeasurable blessings of God that we have received and are available to us because of our relationship with God in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3 NLT
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Ephesians

A New Year, A New You (January 5, 2020)

A wise prayer goes something like this, “Lord, give me the strength to change the things I can, the grace to accept the things I can’t, and the wisdom to know the difference.” There are a lot of things that we can’t change or that we will have no control over this next year but one thing we can change and control, by the power of the Holy Spirit, is ourselves. This Sunday we will see how to put off the old ways and put on the new walk.

Ephesians 4:20-24 NKJV
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians

Right, Wrong and Righteous (January 12, 2020)

In life there are two choices when it comes to our thoughts, attitudes, words, actions and reactions; “Right” and “Wrong.” We know we should think, say and do the “right thing.” This Sunday we will learn of a third option that is even greater than doing what is right.

Ephesians 4:25-32 NKJV

25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

How a Christian Walks (January 19, 2020)

Someone has said that if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck, then it is probably a duck. How can we tell if someone is a Christian? What does a Christian look like, sound like and walk like? Join us this Sunday as we study Ephesians 5 to see how a Christian walks. Join us for worship this Sunday, January 19, at 10:00am. All are welcome!

Ephesians 4:1, 17 NKJV
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,

Ephesians

Walking in Wisdom (January 26, 2020)

There is a show called “Pickers” where two guys drive around the country looking for barns and sheds filled with “junk.” They know that some of that “junk,” if rescued, and restored, is precious, priceless and can be very productive! So too our lives are precious, priceless, and can be so productive if we choose to walk in the wisdom of God. Join us for worship this Sunday, January 26, at 10:00am. All are welcome!

Ephesians 5:15-20 NLT
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Spirit-filled Submission (February 2, 2020)

Most people relate the word submission with weakness but real godly submission requires great strength, courage, and faith. This week we will study the power and promise of Spirit filled submission when we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. Join us for Worship and Celebration of the Lord’s Supper this Sunday at 10:00am.

Ephesians 5:21 NKJV

21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Instructions for a Healthy Home and Family (February 16, 2020)

This Sunday, February 16, we begin a 5-week study of what the Bible teaches about how to have a healthy home and family. God is the author and creator of the family and if we are to experience its true purpose and great potential we must know and follow His instructions. Join us for worship at 10:00am.

Ephesians 5:22-33 NKJV
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

God’s Design for Marriage – Part 1 (February 23, 2020)

This Sunday, February 23, we continue our study of what the Bible teaches about how to have a healthy home and family focusing on God’s Design for Marriage.

God’s Instructions for Children and Parents (March 8, 2020)

Join us for Worship this Sunday at 10:00 am. This week we will see God’s instructions for a healthy home and family in the special relationship of parents and children. God’s principles are the same today as they have always been and when followed they can and will bring blessing to our lives and family.

Ephesians 6:1-4 NKJV
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. 9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

Ephesians

Soldiers for Christ (March 29, 2020)

Join us this Sunday on Facebook live at 10 am as we study one of the most illustrative passages in the Bible of the Christian life and how we are to put on the whole armor of God that is provided through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians

We Are at War With an Invisible Enemy (April 19, 2020)

If there was an invisible enemy seeking to cause you and your family great harm, would it affect the way you live? Would you change the places that you go, maybe the contact that you have with certain people, would you wear certain protective articles like gloves and masks if I told you that they might save your life? The answer for most is yes! Many are doing these very things right now because of the current unseen virus that is affecting our world.
What if I told you that there was an even greater unseen enemy that has been here for thousands of years and it has ruined, destroyed, and killed billions of lives and will only get worse as time goes on. The Bible tells us that there is such an enemy and he walks all about this earth with his evil army seeking more lives to destroy. We can’t see him but we can stand and fight against him.

Join us for worship LIVE STREAMING at 10am this Sunday, April 19, on Facebook

Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11a Put on the whole armor of God, 11b that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

Ephesians

Behind Enemy Lines (May 3, 2020)

Some people think of the Christian life as being a tourist on vacation at a resort;
“Finally, brethren put on the shorts of leisure, the silk shirt of comfort, the sandals of pleasure, the sun hat of peace, the sunglasses of ease, and don’t forget to apply the sun screen of protection.”

But the Bible describes the Christian life as being like a soldier on mission behind enemy lines.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Ephesians 6:10-17 NKJV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
